My name is Ruby Arora, and I am the Chair for the DAC! I am a junior studying Biology and Political Science, with a minor in Anthropology! I am from the beautiful city of Memphis, TN, and I plan on going to medical school after graduation. Outside of the DAC, I am involved with Model UN and Timmy Global Health, and I serve as a student advisor. In my spare time, I love drinking coffee and watching cheesy romantic comedies and political dramas!
My name is Paul Lachman, and I am one of the Co-Directors of Programming for the DAC. I am from the San Francisco Bay Area, majoring in International and Area Studies, Finance, and a minor in Spanish. Outside of the DAC, I’m in Greek life, and a mentor for Strive for College. I am passionate about creating a more educated student body when it comes to topics of diversity and inclusion.
Hi! My name is Jared Balbona, and I am this year’s Co-Director of Programming for the DAC! Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, I’m currently a junior studying Cognitive Neuroscience with hopes of (one day) attending grad school. Outside of the DAC, I also serve as an Uncle Joe, an RA for Brookings Res College, and a developmental neuropsych research assistant. My name is Divya Babbula. I was born in India, grew up in Texas, and have spent my last few years falling in love with St. Louis. I’m studying Anthropology with a concentration in Global Health and the Environment with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I enjoy learning about different ways the personal is political, decolonization studies, and modes of advocacy. My hobbies include finding new music, eating Taco Bell, and being on the DAC (not necessarily in that order).
Hi! My name is Jennifer Frey, and I am a Co-Director of Public Relations. I am from Arlington, VA, just outside Washington D.C. I am a senior majoring in East Asian Studies and minoring in General Economics. I have studied Chinese for over 8 years. Besides the DAC, I am involved in Sigma Iota Rho. Previously, I was an intern at the Office of Public Affairs and an exec member of the Association of Mixed Students, among other activities. I enjoy traveling, trying new cuisines, hanging out in coffee shops, and just generally exploring new places.
Alberto De La Rosa
My name is Alberto De La Rosa and I’m one of the Co-Directors of Public Relations and have been part of the DAC since last year. I’m a senior majoring in Film and Media Studies and minoring in American Culture Studies. I am originally from Barranquilla, Colombia but live in Miami, FL. I’m also a writer and video editor for Student Life Newspaper. Some of my favorite things to do are explore coffee shops around town, (attempt to) cook food, interview people, make ultra-specific Spotify playlists, and learn new languages. Hi! I’m Carl Hooks, one of the Directors of Community Outreach for the DAC and a senior at Wash U. I’m majoring in International & Area Studies with a Development focus, with minors in Political Science and Chinese. I’m hoping to pursue work in NGOs or government after college. Outside of the DAC, I’m a Peer Leader for a social justice retreat and a member of the international studies honorary on campus. My name is Daniela Jimenez and I am the Co-Director of Community Outreach. I am a current junior from Los Angeles. I am majoring in Biology and I am Pre-Vet, with a minor in Psychology. Outside of the DAC, I work in a Biology Research lab, am on the WashU Womens Ultimate Club Team and volunteer at a pet shelter.
My name is Ari Gao. I was born and raised in Texas (y’all), and over the last four years, St. Louis become a second home to me. I’m studying Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience, and minoring in Creative Writing. Issues of economic disparity are near to my heart, especially homeless issues. And I’m endlessly curious about the ways SES relates to everyday issues like health, housing, and political representation. My hobbies include skiing, making and eating good food, and being on the DAC.
My name is Bria White. I am a Junior from Savannah, GA and after living in 7 different states, as well as going to a different school every year from Kindergarten through 12th grade, I have really enjoyed getting to spend the last two years settled in St. Louis. Hi! My name is Kelly Hu and I’m currently a senior majoring in Chemistry and Economics. I am from Boca Raton, FL, so I love sunny weather and beaches. I also really enjoy running and exploring St. Louis. In addition to DAC, on campus I’m involved with various TAing and tutoring jobs. I’m also heavily involved with Orchestrating Diversity, in which I both serve as co-president and teach piano.

Hi! My name is Lizzie Franclemont, and I’m a freshman here at WashU! I’m currently a studio art major, but I’m also interested in Urban Studies (public and social policy track). Outside of the DAC, I’m on the performance crew for WUSLam and in my free time I enjoy watching Netflix with friends, finding new coffee shops and getting mozz sticks every Friday at BD. My name is Joy Korley, and I am a sophomore from Birmingham, Alabama. I am premed and majoring in Psychology. In addition to being on the DAC Committee, I am a member of WU Cypher and TRUTH: Teaching Racial Understanding through Honesty.
